Click Creative at the RMIT PR, Marketing & Communications (WIL) Awards Night

Collaboration is the Key

Having formed a collaboration with RMIT and their Marketing and Communications programme, Click Creative were invited along to the event. The event was attended by tutors, students and members of multiple industry groups who have been involved with the students learning and education over the past semester, across the Public Relations, Marketing and Communications disciplines.

“After working with the RMIT Business and Marketing faculties for many years, we’ve always enjoyed the productive collaboration their students, teachers and staff have brought to the table. This year’s PR, Marketing & Communications Industry Awards night was another great event, showcasing and rewarding the results students have achieved in their studies and of course, during industry placement”, said Click Creative Sales & Marketing Manager, Matthew Catt.

Shaping Career Paths

WIL projects allow students to learn whilst working with real-life clients. These partnerships give students valuable experience in a working environment, provide insights into how the industry works prior to the completion of their course and information on how to progress into the career they are studying for.

Felicity Burns (Teacher, Advertising, Marketing and Communications) had this to say about the reasoning behind WIL projects, “Industry projects always provide the practical, real skills that our students need for employment and for their careers. Working with real budgets and participating in client-facing presentations are invaluable skills that our students acquire before they leave the classroom.”

Click Creative’s Darryn Thomas and Matthew Catt were in attendance to witness the latest product of the collaboration, Click Creative’s Marketing Intern Graeme Walker, collect two awards along with his colleagues. These awards were for their high quality, creative campaigns that were produced for Rolld, the Vietnamese Eatery and Recreational Vehicle manufacturer, Jayco.

When asked about the benefits of WIL projects Graeme said, “It was exciting to be able to create a campaign for a live client. The opportunities to work with known brands and present our ideas to their marketing teams was an amazing experience. It showed us what the future may look like in our chosen career.”

Building a partnership for the future

Click look forward to continuing the association with RMIT by establishing and maintaining a partnership that encourages industry insight and education through internships and opportunities to the Marketing and Communication professionals of the future.

Darryn Thomas, Founder & Creative Director said, “Click Creative is about the creative design and delivery of digital marketing strategies to grow our clients’ brand and their business. Our collaboration with RMIT offers its students valuable, real-world experience in a leading boutique Digital Agency. And we get fresh minds and great creativity that wins awards… a win-win for our clients, the Click team & RMIT!”
